Over 400 Blankets Collected During Annual Holiday Drive
The holiday season is upon us, and as we embrace the spirit of giving, the North Central Alabama Regional Council of Governments (NARCOG) has brought warmth and joy to Lawrence and Cullman County through a heartwarming Blanket Drive. Throughout the month of November, NARCOG led a community-driven initiative to collect 275 blankets for low-income Supplemental Security Income (SSI) clients and disabled individuals of all ages under the Medicaid Waiver program.
In the true spirit of community, NARCOG partnered with local businesses, organizations, schools, and compassionate individuals to make the Blanket Drive a success. In all, NARCOG was able to collect 415 blankets!
To aid our clients even further, some organizations went beyond just blankets. Decatur High School held a canned food drive and the North Central Alabama Mental Health Center collected hygiene products.
NARCOG would like to extend a big thank you to those who aided in the success of this drive. It wouldn't be possible without such a giving community. Also, thank you to Home Instead for caring for our Morgan County clients.
