NARCOG Team Members Volunteer at CAPNA's Meals on Wheels Program
NARCOG recently kicked off its first quarterly Serve Day by partnering with the CAPNA Meals on Wheels program to deliver meals to seniors, homebound individuals, and people with disabilities across Decatur. A handful of employees volunteered their time, teaming up in pairs to cover nine delivery routes throughout the morning. After picking up vehicles at the office, volunteers headed to the Meals on Wheels building for route assignments and a quick overview before setting out across the city. Using NARCOG fleet vehicles, each team delivered meals safely while also taking time for friendly check-ins along the way. Meals on Wheels provides daily meals and wellness checks for residents in Decatur and Hartselle, offering critical support to some of the community’s most vulnerable populations. NARCOG and CAPNA regularly work together to strengthen services across the region, and this Serve Day created a meaningful opportunity to do that work side-by-side in a more hands-on way. This event marked a strong start to NARCOG’s new quarterly Serve Day initiative, and we’re excited to keep it going and look forward to more opportunities to serve our communities in the months ahead.
